Views and vistas of the Highlands The best photo opportunities along the Hudson River, often called the "Rhine of the Americas", can be found in the village of Cold Spring from its 100' X 100' dock at the foot of Main Street. Equally fantastic are the views of West Point Military Academy as seen from the picturesque Garrison's Landing and don't miss the classic Hudson River scenes viewed from Boscobel.

Garrison-on-Hudson, or Garrison's Landing is located along the Hudson River opposite West Point Military Academy, and was an important ferry landing before the building of the Bear Mountain Bridge. Today, it is best known for its art center, community theater, and the outstanding views. The original train depot was a location shot for the film, "Hello Dolly". Garrison's Landing is still a scheduled stop on the Metro North line.
Breakneck Mountain Located in Hudson Highlands State Park, this mountain is famous for its hiking trails and scenic views. It was formerly the site of a granite quarry that supplied stone for the piers of the Brooklyn Bridge. Today, the Breakneck Lodge sits at the base of the mountain.
Bear Mountain Bridge Located 7 miles south of the village of Cold Spring, this bridge is the prototype for the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
