This trip starts at the junction of the Bear Mountain Bridge and Route 9d. There is parking on 9d on the north side of the Bridge. Take a walk across the bridge for breathtaking views and great photo opportunities looking north to Garrison, and south to Iona Island extending from the west bank of the river.

As you drive north, you pass the
Highlands Golf Club to your left where
Xaviars Restaurant is located.

Osborne Castle sits on a hill to the right of Route 9d and may be seen from the Highlands Golf Club.

Your next landmark is the junction of Routes 9d and 403. Turn left on Route 403 to Garrison's Landing. To your right on Route 403 is the Hamilton Fish Library.

Continuing north on Route 9d, past St. Philip's Church (left) and the Garrison Free School (right), Dick's Castle (Garrison Hall) sits high on a hill to the right of Route 9d. Best viewing point is on the north side of the bridge over Indian Brook Road and looking south.
