Cold Spring's own Halloween Parade, 1999

Created and Sponsored by Staley/Gretzinger and The Guide Phone Book,
with assistance and support from the Village Board of Trustees, Cold Spring Police Department, Cold Spring Fire Company, and music supplied by Scott Webster of WebstersWebsites.

This wonderful function for the Children of Philipstown has grown over the past several years from a small gathering, sometimes done on cold damp evenings, to the great success that it is today.

The parade gathered at St. Philips Church and marched down Main Street behind a police escort and fire truck, sirens wailing, and fire horn blasting, over Lunn Terrace, down Market Street and back to Main Street arriving at the Bandstand where 600 Halloween sacks with candy were handed out. The entire street is filled clear back to Market Street, as can be seen at the top of the pictures, and up to the bridge.

The Dock and surrounding areas were crammed with people talking with neighbors and enjoying the music in the great weather we were having.

Music included Halloween formats followed by 50s through 80s hot dance tunes, broken by an occasional ballad. Later, dance music of the late 20s and early 30s, all from the original 78s finished the evening.
