About the Tournament
The Rotary Clubs of Putnam Valley and Philipstown are hosting
their First Annual Rotary Golf Classic on Monday, August 24, 1998.
Local Rotarians, friends and area business and professional people will
enjoy a great day of folf at the prestigious Garrison Country Club.
A course in great condition, a beautiful sunny dsy (the rain date, just
in case, is Septemver 9, 1998) and the camaraderie shared by over 100
golfers are all reserved for this tournament.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used by the clubs to support
their numereous service activities. Each club supports projects,
not only locally but also internationaly, providing assistance to
seniors, young people and the needy in area of health, hunger,
substance abuse, literacy, vocational assistance and environmental
improvement.
The Rotary Golf Classic encourages participation by golfers at all
levels of play. This Tournament is less about competition than
it is about having fun while supporting many worthwile service activities.
A car will be awarded for a Hole in ONe on a specified hole. Tropies
for Low Gross, Low Net, Closest to Pin, Closest to Line and Longest
Drive (male & female).
Additional prizes for golfing equipment and golf related
merchandise in many fun categories. The Calloway System of
scoring will be used.
