1994 - Present:

County Legislator, Putnam County, Carmel, NY

  • Deputy, Acting Chairman of the Legislature, 1997 - 1998

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

1998 - Present

Independent Consultant, VMT Consulting, New York, NY

Designed imaging and computer system for Putnam County, including definition of requirements, selection for hardware and software and implementation plan.

As member of Governor's New York State Year 2000 Task Force, assumed advisory role for planning and coordination Year 2000 efforts among state agencies. Designed readiness checklist used by New York State.

1996 - 1997

Project Executive, QED Consulting, New York, NY

Worked with major brokerage firm to develop Project Office for a $340 million project to develop and implement a national roll-out of first two releases of a strategic broker workstation for 540 branch offices. Project included advanced functions, such as video, and software integration on a Windows/NT platform. Responsibilities included: gather technical and implementation process details of sub-projects from 15 Technologies departments, design project plan including all sub-project interdependencies, design and gain buy-in to the governance structure for the project, design and implement tracking mechanisms and reporting, execute project tracking, keep 15 senior management informed on a weekly basis (SVP and above).

Lead marketing efforts for Year 2000 consulting services to New York State, including designing marketing strategy and developing 60-page RFP response and other marketing materials.

Developed a three-day training course on project management, including principles of concentric project managment and creating, setting up and updating a project plan using Primavera project management software. Course combined lecture, case studies and team-based hands-on exercises. Worked with major insurance firm to design project office and train staff of 30 project coordinators on use of Primavera.

Developed change management consulting methodology for use on consulting engagements, including data collection guides, reporting templates and education modules.

1994 - 1996

Financial Officer/General Manager Culbertson Restoration, Elmsford, NY

Project management and financial reporting for a $5 million structural and maintenance design contractor. Responsibilities include job estimating and managing all labor, materials and equipment. Tracked costing using Microsoft Project to accomplish multi-task projects. Total responsibility for twenty trade technicians, union negotiations, payroll, tax, general ledger, budget management and financial forecasts and investments.

1990 - 1994

General Project Manager, Structural Preservation Systems, Hackensack, NJ

Estimator, sales and operations manager for a construction firm. Functions included estimating, scheduling, purchasing, cost control using Excel and an in-house costing system.

1985 - 1990

General Manager, M & M Realty Corp., Elmsford, NY

Operations manager for a general contracting firm and real estate developer. Responsibilities included management of all field operations and office administration. Functions included contact negotiation and adjustment, cost control, billing, purchasing, job costing, project scheduling and claims using Primavera system.

1982 - 1985

Project Manager/Scheduler, H. Fair Associates, New Rochelle, NY

Project administrator for a general contracting firm with additional corporate responsibilities for implementation of computerized accounting and scheduling systems.

1979 - 1982

Project Engineer/Assistant Superintendent, John T. Brady & Co., New Rochelle, NY

Management and administration of projects for unionized general contracting firm operating on an interstate basis on both private and public works projects. Responsibilities included all equal opportunity and labor union reporting.

1978 - 1979

Internal Auditor, Community Mutual Savings Bank, Mt. Vernon, NY

Responsible for mortgage, passbook, savings bonds and checking verification and field audit procedures for branches, reported to the bank president. Responsible for auditing bank financial statements.

1976 - 1978

Pension Fund Administrator, Bankers Trust, New York, NY

Responsible for preparation of investments and disbursements for AT&T employee pension and savings funds. Included customer service transactions to transfer funds and verify account balances. Audit and preparation for annual AT&T stockholder meetings.
